The 8th Annual Fit58 Center Education Foundation 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run or Walk will be one-of-a-kind.  Though our event must go virtual, Center students and staff still need your support!  All registration fees help fund field trips, special classroom projects and events, and even scholarships.  While we may be walking and running on our own, there will still be lots of opportunities for virtual fun!  We'll be sending training tips, virtual course idea maps, info about giveaways and prizes, and more.  Participants can join our private groups on social media for photo contests and group fun!

Registration is now OPEN!

Do I need to walk or run on a certain day?  Complete your 1-mile or 5K your way!  Just make sure you submit your "official" time to the website between October 10th and 17th.

Do I need to run or walk a certain route?  Nope!  Walk or run where you feel safe and comfortable.  Get the family involved!  We'll even have photo contests in the coming weeks - think best shot of 4-legged running buddies, best friends, family time, and scenery!

I don't live in KC; can I still do the event?  That's the BEST part of a virtual event - you can complete it your way, from anywhere!  There may even be prizes (hint, hint) for the participant that completes the event from farthest away!

How do I keep track of my time/distance?  There are lots of free apps to use!  We like Nike Training Club (use the My Coach option for guided training), Map My Run/Walk, Strava, and more.  Don't have a device?  You can find routes near you at or visit your nearest track.

How far is a 5K?  3.1 miles.

Can I pay by check or cash?  Yes.  Download a paper registration form here.

About the Center Education Foundation

The Center Education Foundation is a community based 501(c) 3 non-profit that is focused on enhancing educational opportunities for children in the Center School District community.  The Foundation provides grant money to Center teachers and staff so that they can provide educational experiences for their students that are not included in the regular District budget.  Recent examples include helping to fund travel to Costa Rica for advanced Spanish students, outreach programs to encourage low income families to participate in the Parents As Teachers Program, and bringing in resource teachers to help elementary students learn about bats and weather.

The Block Party has been postponed to April 24, 2021.  We don't have all of the details worked out yet, but we'll be involved.  There will be opportunities to have fun for a great cause - your Center Education Foundation!
